So, I know the week isn't over yet and I apologize for jumping the gun a bit, but I'm worried that I won't have to to get this blog done so I'm doing it while I have time. I'm already assuming that my favorite thing this week will be "The Mountain" video.
I saw that this video is now on the homework page!! Yayyy! But, I'm upset because my computer is old and cant process the greatness of this video without staggering. So, I'm going to have to go to a friend's house soon (one who has a nice computer) and force them to watch it because I loved it so much.
I realize that although this it not really something that was "planned" for our class and some may say it served no purpose but I thought it was beautiful. All of these lanscapes forced me to appreciate the world we live in and love and cherish Earth so much. Not only were the lanscapes stunning, but so was the music. This piano piece was perfect for this video and really enhanced the expirience for me.
The internet is such a cool thing because it's nice to know that not only our class has taken the time to watch this video but also that billions of people have access to this.
The lanscapes that I ejoyed the most were the ones with all the stars in the sky. I know a lot of people who have visited rural places and they always say things like, "I've never in my life seen so many stars!!!" and I always just assume its just like when I'm up at my lakehouse and I can see a decent amount of stars but those pictures where unbelievable. This video has inspired me to travel to places like Alaska, or the middle of Nevada, where I will be out in the open with the stars.
Anyways, it just made me happy. I needed something like this.

Hanaaaa! I loved that video too-and was just as excited to see it on the homework page (:
ReplyDeleteIt inspired me to more-appreciate the Earth around us also-although I don't know if forced is the word. I already appreciate the wonderful nature that surrounds us, especially because it's spring now, but sometimes need an eye-opener every once in awhile.
The piano song was beautiful and it made me want to go right home and learn how to play it. And learn how to play piano. I think piano is the most beautiful instrument out there and I wish I would aqcuire the motivation to learn how to play it. I have one right in my living room and it sits there, day and night, unnoticed.
This video inspires the mind in two way: to open our eyes more, and open our ears more. Sometimes everyone just needs to be given a gentle reminder to make sure we're actually seeing and actually listening.
Hey Hana!
ReplyDeleteI really loved this video too! I feel like we take a lot of things in nature for granted because we see them all the time. Seeing this video really made me appreciate everything that is out there in nature. It also made me want to go and see some of those amazing sites from the video. I'll be the first person to admit that I'm not a huge fan of nature, but I think that it'd be such an awesome experience to see things from the video like the northern lights.
I was also very excited to see this on the homework page since we didn't get to finish it in class. I think that, like you said, the music that went along with it was perfect. It was a very calming song that didn't distract from the video.
